OTOJIRO Database DJs Curate Music Nightly: THE LIVELY Fukuoka Hakata Launches Sound Sake Stand in August 2025
The Fukuoka Music City Council brings together information on music artists, creators, businesses, organizations, and venues active in the Fukuoka area and publishes it continuously in the OTOJIRO curated-media database. Using this database, the Council also runs a booking program that sends artists to hotel lounges, events, and other partner settings across the city.
As part of this booking program, the Council will provide artists for the new Sound Sake Stand project at lifestyle hotelTHE LIVELY Fukuoka Hakata.
Sound Sake Stand runs alongside THE LIVELY Fukuoka Hakata’s early-evening free-beer service, previously limited to hotel guests. It recreates Fukuoka’s standing-bar culture in the hotel’s extraordinary setting and is open to local residents and visitors.
From 5:00–7:00 p.m. each evening in the first-floor lounge, guests can enjoy local sake, carefully selected drinks, and original ¥500 food in a standing-bar style accompanied by DJs and musicians registered in the OTOJIRO database.
Rotating selections of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, house, and other music suited to the space create a different atmosphere every night. Enjoy a one-night-only encounter with local artists.
The project is open to people not staying at the hotel. Local residents and Hakata visitors alike can drop in casually for two hours where local culture meets hotel culture.

SOHKI (SOUL ALIVE) organizes the contemporary soul party SOUL ALIVE. His history includes producing Fukuoka concerts for Hitomitoi and appearing with leading DJs including DJ MURO, Toru Hashimoto of Suburbia, and Kunimondo Takiguchi of Ryusenkei. Driven by a love of music itself, he plays genre-free vinyl from Japan and abroad, old and new, centered on soul, jazz, and rock. In winter 2022, he launched SOUL ALIVE RECORDS and released the first mix tape Soul Alivin’. He represents Fukuoka’s scene-opening middle generation.
Beginning a DJ career in Fukuoka in 2008, this artist builds groove-focused, genre-free sets ranging from R&B to floor-oriented vocal music. Appearances include opening for leading Japanese guest DJs and sharing bills with major overseas artists, the PARK STAGE at ULTRA JAPAN in 2018 and 2019, and the main stage at MUSIC CIRCUS in the Fukuoka Yahuoku! Dome. Work beyond clubs includes music for MoonStar’s first flagship store FACTORY GINZA, AMU Plaza Hakata’s F:BOOKSTORE supported by Origami event, fashion shows, and corporate parties.

It promotes music across related industries, tourism, and urban development by bringing together and supporting businesses and individuals in many roles across the city.
