
Madori Shigeto began classical guitar at age seven and studied with jazz guitarist Ryoichi Matsuo from age ten. She switched to bass at sixteen and moved to Tokyo at eighteen, where she studied at Musashino Music Academy and learned bass from Greg Lee. After graduating, she performed with bands and worked in sessions and recordings. A chronic illness worsened when she was twenty-seven, prompting her return to Fukuoka, but after twenty years of treatment she has resumed her musical career.
