Trumpeter Nobuyuki Takaki, also known as Turkey, is from Yamaguchi Prefecture. Based in Fukuoka, he moves primarily between the jazz and Latin scenes while also being sought out by musicians in other genres. His experience spans jazz combos, big bands, salsa, Cuban son, Latin jazz, jive, funk, free music, and more. He is also skilled in mute techniques that broaden the expressive possibilities of the trumpet. His many live appearances include Nakasu Jazz, Music City Tenjin, Isla de Salsa, jazz clubs in Nakasu, and live houses throughout the region. He is a regular host of the recurring jam session Soshi-kun no Jazz, where his flexible musical touches and ability to expand a session have earned high praise.
