Namy& Inc. Presents Co-Write Day Fukuoka 2023, Where Artists from Japan and Abroad Create and Perform Together
Namy& Inc. is a music label and agency led by Yutaka Takanami, or NAMY, one of the producers of the masked unit AmPm, the most-streamed Japanese act overseas on Spotify in 2017. During the pandemic, the company actively collaborated with guest artists in Japan and abroad, releasing more than 200 works in two years. For many artists, sharing their work in another country and making overseas performances a reality is not easy.
At the same time, if a culture of finding inspiration in unfamiliar settings and co-writing with creators from different backgrounds becomes accessible, it holds creative potential for new forms of artistic expression.
Co-Write Day Fukuoka is part of Asia Music Residence, a business concept that will be developed over the coming years.
The initiative will build bases across Asia where artists from Japan and abroad can stay, interact, and co-write. It begins in Fukuoka, the gateway to Asia, creating a music-business hub that serves as a consultation desk and agency for releasing music overseas and realizing international performances.
