She began working professionally as a jazz pianist while at university, performing with tenor saxophonist Hidehiko Matsumoto and others, and moved to New York in 1996. In 1999, she was the only Japanese musician to join a Percy Faith Orchestra tour. She formed Visions with bassist Kiyoshi Mamura in 2000 and has developed art collaborations rooted in jazz. Her work includes collaboration with village kagura in Nishimera, Miyazaki; participatory Picture Books and Jazz concerts with poet Arthur Binard; performances with internationally known tap dancer Yuji Uragami from Mashiki, Kumamoto; and film, commercial, and stage-music production with Seiichi Hishikawa, art director of NHK’s historical drama Yae’s Sakura.

Come directly to the CANVAS Lounge on the second floor of The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu and enjoy the performance. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each guest is asked to order at least one drink in the lounge. There is no music charge.
