Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, she graduated from the instrumental music program at Aichi University of the Arts. While enrolled, she completed a master class with Thomas Indermühle. She studied oboe with Atsuko Yamamoto, Hitoshi Wakui, and Takehiko Ura, and chamber music with Shiro Murata, Ayako Harada, and Yoshiaki Aotani. She now performs freelance in Kyushu, Tokai, Kanto, and elsewhere. Through a streaming app, she also works daily to make the oboe and classical music more approachable.
Maiko Nishio (violin)
She began violin at age three and graduated from the International Academy of the Suzuki Method. While enrolled, she spent a year at the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia as a dispatched instructor. She studied with Shinichi Suzuki, Koji Toyoda, and Julian Meyer. After returning to Japan, she began her music career in Fukuoka. Alongside solo and chamber-music work, she entered the music-therapy program in the Department of Music at Fukuoka Women’s Junior College, studying with Seiji Amano. In 2009, she toured the United Kingdom as a member of the Bach Strings Ensemble. In 2011, as a Primavera Strings member, she performed with violist Iwao Furusawa at Hibishin Hall, ACROS Symphony Hall, and other venues. In 2014 and 2015, she toured Italy with Sinfonietta Fukuoka, earning acclaim for concerts in Verona and elsewhere. She now performs as a soloist and in chamber groups and orchestras around Japan, and as a Fukuoka Salon Orchestra member gives annual concerts at elementary schools across Kyushu.

Come directly to the CANVAS Lounge on the second floor of The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu and enjoy the performance. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each guest is asked to order at least one drink in the lounge. There is no music charge.
